In the last couple of weeks there have been news stories that the sochi winter olympics in Russia slopestyle snowboarding course has been unsafe and competitors are pulling out because they don’t want to get injured.
I think that the competitors that are pulling out should give it another go because you still might have a chance to get a medal.
One of the reasons they should keep going is because they don’t want to let their sponsor down because the sponsor might decide to stop supporting them and go to another athlete.
Another reason I believe they should do it is for the honor of being an olympic medalist and representing your country.
One of the reasons I think they should not compete is because they might sustain a life threatening injury that could end their career. But they should still give it a go because they could still win a medal!
The people who say that they should pull out I think they are wrong you should try and persevere and don’t let your team down.

Ro, I enjoyed the range of perspectives you shared in this post, lots of things to think about in deciding whether or not to compete on this course. We have certainly seen some pretty big crashes, especially in the women's competition. I thought your first sentence was so well written, it really focused your post well.
